According to your answer, you are currently in your country of residence. To begin the process, you must first apply for enrollment to The FCI. After you have submitted your application, below are the additional steps you’ll need to take to get you to The FCI’s kitchens in New York City.
- Requesting the Form I-20
- Paying the SEVIS Fee
- Applying for a visa at the US embassy in my home country
- Maintaining my status and staying in the United States
Step 1: Request the Form I-20
Unless you have another status that allows you to study full-time in the United States, you will need the form I-20 to obtain M-1 student status. If you are not sure whether you need to obtain this status, check with Leland Scruby. Once you have submitted your application for admission and are accepted to a full-time career program, you can begin the visa process. To request the I-20, provide the following to the Office of Student Affairs:
- A legible copy of your passport identification page.
- Proof of financial resources. Learn how.
- Proof of English language proficiency. Learn how.
- A copy of any previous visas to the United States.
- Your home address, and the address and phone number where the I-20 should be sent.
