A GUIDE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Thank you for considering The French Culinary Institute for your culinary education. Our renowned career programs can put you on the fast track to pursuing a rewarding culinary career and, under federal law, are open to enrollment by M-1 nonimmigrant students. These programs are:

  • Classic Culinary Arts (full-time day schedule)
  • Classic Culinary Arts with Front of House Training (part-time evening schedule)
  • Classic Pastry Arts (full-time day schedule)
  • Classic Pastry Arts with Front of House Training (part-time evening schedule)
  • The Art of International Bread Baking (day or night schedules)
Most international students enrolled in these programs will need a student visa to enter the United States. Before you begin the visa process, you need to submit an Application for Admission and be accepted. You may apply online or download the necessary admission forms. For help with your application, contact our Office of Admission via email or call 1-888-FCI-CHEF.

We have created this guide to tell you what you need to know as an international student and to help you navigate the visa process. International students now have the option to study at night. Enrolling in Classic Culinary Arts or Classic Pastry Arts with Front of House Training gives you enough hours in our evening programs to meet international student visa requirements. Learn more
