There are some who believe that presentation is everything. After successfully completing our 2-session Plating & Food Styling course, you will eagerly agree.

Artistic food styling and plating is a distinctive design discipline that can make culinary masterpieces look as good as they taste. A successfully dazzling presentation has the unique ability to trigger the senses in ways that words can’t express.

Plating & Food Styling is the perfect opportunity for experienced chefs to further develop their presentation skills or for caterers, personal chefs and beginners to learn techniques for creating visual taste appeal.

Under the creative direction of our talented Chef-Instructors, you will learn plating philosophy and basic plating techniques using simple styling tools and the humble plate as your canvas.

Armed with spoons, brushes, squeeze bottles, and plates of different shapes and sizes, you’ll learn presentation techniques for displaying hors d’œuvres, appetizers, and entrees that can make your next dinner party or catered affair a great success. You’ll discover new approaches for plating the same recipe in a variety of ways, enhancing the presentation each time.

And, with convenient Saturday morning classes it fits into just about anyone's schedule.

As a result of taking Plating & Food Styling , you will acquire the following:
  • Knowledge of the proper use of tools and equipment to enhance the appearance of food
  • Approaches for plating the same recipe in a variety of ways
  • Techniques for making presentation platters attractive
  • Basic plating techniques
    • Hors d’œuvres
    • Purees
    • Drags/lines
    • Using squeeze bottles
    • Paint brushes
