          On the first day of class, Alan Richman reminded us that we are writers first. The fact that we collectively choose to write about food is just a matter of personal taste. This real world course with our Dean of Food Journalism and Instructor Alan Richman, one of the industry's most prolific and respected writers, can be your entrée into the exciting world of food writing. Mr. Richman takes a personal interest in every student in this intensive, 15-hour program. You'll hone your skills while learning to write food features, craft editor pitches, write reviews, food feature stories, and more. His feedback will be invaluable.

Alan Richman was the award-winning restaurant critic for GQ magazine before becoming a writer for Bon Appétit, Condé Nast Traveller, and GQ in 2003. The recipient of an unprecedented twelve James Beard Foundation awards for food writing, he earned the distinction of being the first food writer to capture a National Magazine Award.
