Hands-On Culinary Art School
At The French Culinary Institute, we take a hands-on approach to the traditional culinary art school concept. Whether you're involved in one of our career programs, or enhancing your skills with our specialty and amateur programs, you'll work alongside some of the world's most distinguished chefs. While you work with them, you'll get advice, critiques and the personal attention that makes The FCI a unique culinary art school. For aspiring professionals and amateurs alike, you'll gain the experience you need to distinguish yourself in the culinary world, or at home. Learn how our accelerated learning programs at the FCI offer an excellent alternative to traditional culinary arts degrees. We invite those looking for culinary arts degrees to explore our programs and discover everything The FCI has to offer. Our career program students get the benefit of the real-world experience in our own restaurant, L'Ecole. Under the supervision of our experienced Chef-Instructors, you'll be placed in L'Ecole's disciplined, professional kitchen, preparing dishes as well as refining your skills and tastes day by day. Through our intense Total ImmersionSM curriculum at The FCI culinary art school, you will receive the equivalent of years of experience in months. Programs can be completed in 6 months by day, or 9 by night. Take advantage of our unique approach to accelerated learning, which teaches in months what other traditional programs for culinary arts degrees can take years to accomplish!
By the time you reach the final level of our Classic Culinary Arts program, direct responsibility for L'Ecole's daily menu will be placed in your hands. You'll rotate through each station of our acclaimed kitchen under the guidance and supervision of our distinguished Chef-Instructors. Once you've made your way through everything our culinary art school has to offer, you'll be ready to take on the culinary world. This level of enhanced training is just one of the many reasons why our culinary arts school poses such a great alternative to traditional culinary arts degrees.
For those not looking to be professional chefs, our specialty and amateur programs offer a way to grow your skills in the kitchen. Classes start out by introducing you to many of the 250 essential skills that are introduced in the professional Classic Culinary Arts Course. Some of those skills include: preparation of stocks and sauces, basic knife skills, correct execution of classic recipes and food preservation. Our culinary art school offers you the opportunity to learn in the same facilities and from the same faculty as our career students.
