U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for a variety of scholarship opportunities available to assist them with meeting tuition requirements for culinary schools. The listing below includes organizations offering scholarships to students applying to The French Culinary Institute. Applications for some of these culinary education scholarships are on file with the Office of Financial Aid.

Friends of The FCI

Evening Culinary Student Scholarship
Amount: $5,000
Application Deadline: February 28
Students enrolled in any Classic Culinary Arts evening program starting before February 28 are eligible to apply for the Evening Culinary Student Scholarship. Applicants must 1) demonstrate financial need by filling out a FAFSA, and 2) submit an essay of 500 words or more, explaining their passion for the culinary arts and why they should receive the scholarship. Submit your essay via email to apply, or contact us for more information.

Friends of The FCI

The Friends of The FCI Spring Award
A $20,000 award consisting of $10,000 from Friends of The FCI, plus a matching contribution of $10,000 from The French Culinary Institute.
Application Deadline: March 19
The Friends of the FCI Scholarship program provides financial assistance to students enrolling in Classic Culinary Arts or Classic Pastry Arts. The spring scholarship will be awarded to one student starting class in April. Apply online or download the application and mail it to:

Friends of The FCI

The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts Craft of Food Writing Scholarship
Amount: $1,050
Application Deadline: March 19
Two (2) scholarships valued at $1,050 each will be awarded on March 26 to students attending the six-week evening course on The Craft of Food Writing with Alan Richman. For more information and to apply, email us.
