04.01.06 The French Culinary Institute Receives 2006 IACP Award of Excellence for Vocational Cooking School
The French Culinary Institute (The FCI) was honored this week by the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) by receiving the Award of Excellence for Vocational Cooking School. The award for outstanding Vocational Cooking School is bestowed the IACP-member cooking school that provides a superior educational experience for students pursuing a career in the culinary arts.
The IACP Awards have become the industry’s most coveted acknowledgement of excellence in the culinary world. The IACP Awards of Excellence honor IACP members who are experts and leaders in their field. An Awards Committee chooses three finalists for each of the four categories, and the winner in each was chosen by the Awards of Excellence Selection Committee . Winners of the 2006 awards were honored at an Awards Gala on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at the IACP annual conference.

Founded in 1984, The French Culinary Institute teaches the culinary protocol, language and techniques upon which all Western cuisine is based. The FCI offers a rigorous six-month program by day or a nine-month program by night for aspiring or working culinary professionals and serious amateurs.
